I'm currently on TS 6.7.2 Solaris 10.

I need your help. I have a custom user operation that creates a New Page/DCR from the File menu. It's a cgi.

When I'm logged in as myself (TS Master), I'm able to create a new page/dcr.

If you're not a TS Master, you can not create a new page/dcr. TS launch into launchpad and into MS Word or default editor.

My userops_custom.xml:

I'm able to see and define Administrator and Editor to New Page in the Administration Tab/Manage Roles/Custom User Operations.

Any help is appreciated.

You can add log statements when the user other than master is executing the script. You should also check whether the other users have permissions to write in the workarea where the script will be creating a new dcr.

Ok, TS support wasn't much help.

So, I created a new role called 'Reviewer' and based it on the 'Aministrator' role. I gave the new role to the user and the user was able to create a new page.

Strange. Nothing is different between the 2 roles.

Would anybody know why it's behaving this way?

Interesting - you created a "new" role called "Reviewer" - as opposed to redefining the OOTB role called "Reviewer"? Are there now two roles with the same name??

I don't really understand what the original issue was, and since I probably cannot recreate it (especially since I don't have a Solaris server handy) - I'm glad you got things to work - but I'm not sure if what you did was a solution to the problem or a hack to work around the symptoms.

You need to examine all the rights of the users at both the file system level and at the TS role level for the branch that they're trying to work on - and verify if there are any external processes / file accesses in place that might work for one situation and not another - i.e. debug the customization. Or you can just use what you've managed to get done and hope you don't run into another problem later.
