Hi guys,
TS 6.5 sp2 + patch 1767 on Solaris 9.
LiveSite 2.2.1 installed, but not related to this case.anyone ever notice this?
We have a FormAPI onItemChange handler attached to a textarea field with an (inline) VisualFormat editor (VFE). The handler is fired if VFE is in "WYSIWYG" mode, but not if the VFE loses focus when in "Source mode".
Details:

IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/News/Teaser", "onItemChange", TeaserChange);
function TeaserChange(item) {
alert ("Change detected");
}

now, this VFE can be in "View as WYSIWYG" mode or "View HTML Source" mode.

If user makes changes to the VFE, and leaves the VFE (put focus on another field) when the VFE is in "WYSIWYG" mode, then the onItemChange handler is executed.

HOWEVER, if user puts the VFE in "Source" mode, makes changes and leaves the VFE (focus on another field), then onItemChange handler is NOT executed!

First response from support was "oh, but that's how it's meant to work". We've asked them to double-check that, and provide relevant documentation that could back that statement.

note: the only other devnet post about VFE and onItemChange that I could find, is this one (VisualFormat and onItemChange issue), but seems not related.

NOTE: similarly, when leaving the VFE in "Source" mode, the "cleaning" rules which can be set in the VFE config are not applied either... but on (very) close reading of the VF manual, there's a little hint about this in the description of publishviewassource.
