I've always wondered about contracting jobs. Do you have to look for another job when your first contract runs its length? How easy is it to find another contract job? There is comfort in knowing full time job that you get paid, but with contracting, you don't know what happens after your contract length runs out.

Yep that is the life of a contractor.

You sign a deal that ends in Oct. You have to have an undertstanding if Oct is a hard date or fluid. Often it is fluid, hopefully longer. You always need to work on new projects. Networking is the key. That is why I was so ticked about (the lack of) GearUp.

You also need enough reserves to sit on the bench. When you are sitting on the bench too long, you take any **** project that pays.

I sat on the bench for 5 months (several years ago). Now I have not been on the bench for 4 years.
