Sun processor support

System

I am getting indications from IW/Teamsite business support that Teamsite installations on Solaris OS are currently supported running on Sun IIIi and IV processors ONLY and that there is no current support for Sun T1 or T2 (CoolThread), Intel or AMD processors. This is the current indicators for Teamsite releases 6.7.1 and 6.7.2. If true, this situation would seem to indicate that Interwoven is abandoning the Sun/Solaris platform for Teamsite.

Can anyone from IW/Teamsite engineering confirm or clarify this?

Interesting. InterWoven does officially support TeamSite running Solaris LDoms, and LDoms only run on the CoolThread processors.

Officially support and actually work are two different things.

I installed TS 5.5.2 with Tagger, OpenDeploy and DataDeploy (they were different then) on a Sun LDom (or LDom like) virtual server. IWOV did not officially support VMWare for a number of years, though people were using it for a long time (internally as well).

I would suggest you talk to your local sales critter about talking to Cliff or Sunil. I do not think IWOV is moving away from the Solaris (on SPARC) line.

Solaris on Intel/AMD is not supported and likely will not be supported.
