Are you trying to configure previews ? As far as teamsite goes you just need to tell iw.cfg the IP Smiley Tongue

There is nothing you really need to do, just point iw.cfg to the right place. If you were installing and configuring application server, then you should look at the installation guide as it mentions how to configure websphere and weblogic.

I installed the IBM http server with port 80 and 8008, but how do i configure IHS on that server only, as in iplanet i can open the web interface and configure the logs and other things, but i am not able to see any web interface for IHS(IBM http server).

I configured the IBM Http Server 7 on my teamsite server.Now i have to configure it for teamsite preview.In Teamsite document there are steps to add IBM https plugins, in those steps one thing i am not able to understand which is 3rd step i.e

Establish an /iw-mount/ alias:
Alias /iw-mount/ Y:/

Could you please tell me in which file do i need to add the above string.

For apache, it will usually be something like this in your httpd.conf file:

Alias /iw-mount/ /iwmnt/

Options Indexes FollowSymLinks ExecCGI Includes
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

You'll need to change the /iwmnt/ to y:/ if you are on windows.

Usually on iplanet, you would need to change the obj.conf file.

I think the IBM HTTP Server is based on the Apache server, so it would be similar.

I configured IBM http 7.0 with teamsite, preview is also working fine.Now as in Teamsite guide ts_672_install_win_v03_en.pdf page number 118, IBM HTTP Plug-ins, in this i followed all steps as mention i.e.

The installation procedure for the IBM HTTP plug-in is as follows:
1. Copy mod_a2_iw_ts_vpath.dll from iw-home/lib to IBM HTTP Server
Home/modules/
2. Edit IBM HTTP Server Home/conf/httpd.conf so that the following line is the first
line in the LoadModule section:
LoadModule a2_iw_ts_vpath_module modules/mod_a2_iw_ts_vpath.dll
3. Establish an /iw-mount/ alias:
Alias /iw-mount/ Y:/
4. Restart the IBM HTTP server.

But it is giving error as syntax error LoadModule a2_iw_ts_vpath_module modules cannot be loaded.
What could be the reason for this?

Are you trying to configure ssi for your preview? Those steps are only for the ssi preview with TeamSite. Note that this will not work for LiveSite/SitePublisher preview as those do not incorporate ssi for previewing.
