When I generate the file in Teamsite empty line is inserted at top of the generated file.

Why this empty line is inserted? How can this empty line be removed.

There might be problem with .tpl file. So if you attach the presentation template file then it will understand where the problem lies.

Try replacing:

</iw_perl>
</iw_pt>

With:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

</iw_perl>

or:

<iw_perl>
...
 iwpt_output(qq(<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>\n));
...
</iw_perl>

And see if that resolves your issue.

I think there must be something else wrong - I don't believe any of my suggested fixes would, by themselves, introduce a parsing error (well, maybe an inadvertent space in the second example

<? xml ...

should be

<?xml ...

without a space between the question-mark and the "x" in "xml")

CHange the beginning of the file to this:

[html]

[/html]

You will also be able to get rid of the CDATA blocks with that change. You will need to remove the close iw_pt tag at the bottom.

TeamSite does no such thing. You've got couple solid leads, have you tried any of that?

sometimes people think it's a default behaviour. I guess most of the TPL examples in the docs will print an extra line. So people will think of it as a default behaviour, even though it's not Smiley Wink

I am also facing the same sort of issue.. Above suggested solution did not work for me..
I am attaching my tpl file and the output file, could you tell me what mistake i am doing here..

I assume you are trying to get rid of the newlines in the middle:

change this (do for all TS tags):
[php]

[/php]

to this
[php]

[/php]

If you're talking about the top of the file - try changing this:[html]
iwpt_output(qq(\n));[/html]to either this:[html]iwpt_output(qq(\n));[/html]or this:[html]
[/html](I think the latter is simpler / cleaner - but that's ultimately your choice)
