Custom Page Template and Fix Page template

Is there a way to use both custom-page template and fix-page template. We are currently using fix page template to generate HTML pages which have virtual iclude statement for the header and footer and we doing this using custom page template. In addition we are also adding some javascript code.

Now we would like to use fix page template becuse of some layout restriction and wanted to see if its even possible to use them in conjuction.

Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated
