Dynamic expansion of select box

Hi,

I'm using TS 6.7.1 SP1, solaris 10.

The problem is with the width of select box in DCT. This field is populated dynamically and I want the width of this field to be adjusted based on the length of field.

This was happening in TS 6.1 and not happening in TS 6.7.1 SP1.

Could anyone please shed some light on this...

Select box takes the width of the widest label in your select options. You should post your select box snippet for us to see if there was anything wrong in it.

What is behavior you are seeing right now?

Here it goes...

Please check the attached txt

Options are generated from database based on the selection of previous field. This is done using javascript.

Javascript snippet
var pCategory = IWDatacapture.getItem("/Category");
paCategory.setOptions(categoryValue);
IWDatacapture.redraw();

Here categoryValue is generated from database.

The Category select options is not getting expaneded based on the longest value. The field seems to be of fixed width.

Your snippet does not show any select list options - so either the file you posted is useless in trying to help you, or something is wrong with the way your javascript is working because there are no options resulting from it.

Your post does not show what

categoryValue

looks like - so we have no idea if you're actually setting the value of

categoryValue

correctly for use within the little bit of FormAPI code you posted.

I am also facing the same issue. it seems the lenght of select is fixed.
Herewith i attached the sceenshot for your reference.
DCT:

Sample values in select:
AJ - Take 2 boosts or more and get the them half price for 3 months
AK - First month anytime on us - 1 month Anytime call plan free = £4.49 credit for one month

Hi Jagdesh,

FormPublisher DCT look and feel is based on CSS file. Selection box length and width is based on the css file definition. I don't know why it happens at your end but i found that its length depend on the length of text in the option.

But, it might be solved using your own css file. That can be define in templating.cfg file, as below:

cssurl: Specifies the name of a style sheet that can be used to change the
appearance of that specific data capture form.

Is there any specific folder limitation. Do you have any idea on base CSS location which one have the entry to select width/size as 250px. I checked that the below CSS files under Webapps no entry was there as 250px.
1. base/styles/iw.css
2. ccpro/styles/iw.css
3. datacapture/styles/iw.css
4. formspub/styles/iw.css

If you look view source its defined as size:250px for select
