adding extended attributes to files

Hi,

I'd uploaded 2000 PDF files to TeamSite Workarea and like to tag those files. Can any of you suggest me a best way to do it ?

I used CLT 'iwextattr', guess what happened DAS ran to out of sync condtn. (not a good approach)

I'm not sure I understand that last sentence, but then again in over 10 years of doing TeamSite consulting work I've only had to implement DAS for my customers less than three times.

Generally speaking, iwextattr is the way to go if the EAs are constants or programmatically determinable. If the EAs need user interaction to set correctly, you can select multiple files and use the Tag option from within the GUI (though I'm not sure I'd recommend trying to do that with 2000 files at once).

If DAS is getting in your way when you're using iwextattr, try running iwlsat to get a list of all event triggers, then use iwrmat to delete the DAS-related triggers before running iwextattr and then use iwat to restore the triggers after using iwextattr.
