Launch Pad Issue

Sathishbsl

Hi,
Environment :
Teamsite 6.7.1 in solaris.

I am facing an issue with the launchpad. On selecting a .html file in the teamsite and trying to do "edit with" option in the "edit" menu, I am able to get the list of programs to edit that file. But when I try the same thing in the launchpad "edit with" option, I don't get any program selector popup. Here is the error that I am getting in the java console.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

java.lang.NullPointerException

at com.interwoven.launchpad100.view.LocalFilesPanel.handleEditCall(LocalFilesPanel.java:435)

at com.interwoven.launchpad100.view.LocalFilesPanel.access$300(LocalFilesPanel.java:42)

at com.interwoven.launchpad100.view.LocalFilesPanel$12.actionPerformedInternal(LocalFilesPanel.java:323)

at com.interwoven.launchpad100.view.ThreadedActionListener$1.run(ThreadedActionListener.java:59)

[9:01:13 AM IST] LocalFilesPanel: Exception in display update thread ,null

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks

What is the version of JRE you are using?
Also try to add the file extension and the associated program by going to View->My Local Files and click on Settings and then File Types tab. Let us know if that resolves the issue.

Thanks for your response. My JRE version is 1.4.2 and I think its not to deal with JRE version since the launch pad is getting loaded properly. I tried your options too. It didnt work.

Tried with IE 6.0, IE 7.0, Firefox 3.0. No luck.

Now check the following option in IE.

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Java (Sun) -> Use JRE ver......

Is this option checked or not? If not then checked it and restart browser and check launch pad. Hope now it will work.

Now one thing more to try that is update your JRE with newer version (1.5 or 1.6). Hope this time good luck Smiley Happy

Try this

Logout of TeamSite, Close all explorer windows. Open a new one , then login and see. Be very careful when that java windows pop up, never click cnacel or No always click on "Ok".

If you do not get this at this point.

do this , logout from all of your TeamSite windows. Close all explorer windows.
Restart your client machine. Try everything again. This should work.

Thank You
