LiveSite Publish Workflow

I am using the LiveSite publish workflow and is working great, except that I would like to convert the Page Generation from a CGI task to an URL task so user can instantiate the workflow and the generation and the dependencies task are done behind the scene. However if I try to change the generation task from a CGI to an URL task it fails.

Has someone tried this successfully? Please if you could provide some pointers.

I do not think it will make any enhancement in workflow functionality. Because Page Generation from a CGI task calls a processor class and a bean class with a jsp file. JSP file shows the outcome of running process. While using URL Task you need to add another task for resolve page conversion error if occurs.
Although if you need so then you need to dig into customizing code. This file would be helpful to finding Page Generation task details.
