I'm trying to configure webtrends analytics in sitepublisher. I'm finding the documentation to be lacking.

There doesn't seem to be much detail on how to configure the WT component. Has anyone set this up?

Does webtrends component require a runtime environment? We would like to test this out on a static site.

ASFAIK webtrends component do not work in simple static page (html) and it will require Livesite Runtime for running.

I wonder if WebTrends functionality needs LiveSite component?

As per TeamSite 672 SP2 Release Notes:
"WebTrends integration requires that you have access to a locally installed WebTrends system or an account with WebTrends on Demand (hosted mode)."

Nothing is said about LiveSite (not sure if LiveSite is required).

We would like to use SitePublisher WebTrends Analytics component within TS 672 SP2 environment. Our understanding is that LiveSite is not needed. Is this correct?

Addionally:
What would be 'locally installed WebTrends system'? I don't get this statement. Where would (locally?) this be installed?

Well you need to have access to a WebTrends server either one installed on one of your companies servers or you use WebTrends web access the "WebTrends on Demand" service (which requires an account with WebTrends) as the document describes. This is the software that will store your weblogs/page hits and run analysis tools on that data. I'm not sure if LiveSite includes WebTrends (the actual analytical software not the component).

Well, both of referred WebTrends server installations (local to the company network or 'hosted mode') are the same (when looked from within TeamSite domain) configurations. Aren't they?

I am trying to see if there is some other important integration issues to be looked at (with regards to these two 'different' WebTrends configurations) when things are implemented that we do not see at moment.

We do not want to play/include LiveSite in our implementation. Hence our question - do we need LiveSite component to be included if we want WebTrends functionality/framework?

We know that WebTrends, available as one of SitePublisher components, naturally requires SitePublisher. We are confused about LiveSite.

Well the configurations would be slightly different I'm sure as one is hosted by you and the other is hosted by WebTrends itself, but you should be able to figure out how to configuration by looking at the component. You shouldn't need LiveSite for this component, but as the document says you NEED access to a WebTrends Server somewhere. Be it in your local server farm or via WebTrends itself. Also note if you don't have WebTrends server currently that this will also cost you money.

Can anyone please let us know whether we require to implement livesite for using webtrends analytics component or only sitepublisher is enough.
