Limit on setting extended attribute

I have nonxml contents which has some metadata fields. When a combination of the two fields, description and keywords exceed a certain limit of characters, on saving, part of one of the keyword field values gets truncated.
Is there a limit to the no. of characters that can be input in keywords field? or is it something I can try to customize in the iwextattr -s cmd.

TS Extended attributes have length restrictions since time immemorial, name to 1024 characters or less and
value to 4098 characters or less.

My apologies if I'm asking the obvious but - have you validated that it's not your configuration/code that's
causing this? If you are reasonably sure about that contact support, there is no configurational setting for it

After posting this query, I tried setting ea through cmd line and it works for me. Whenever I open Metadata DCT in edit mode, I see it resets back, So I am assuming something is wrong with the js files that load with the DCT. Thanks again.

I'm not aware of any limitation to the sum of the Name/Value length. This 1024/4098 limits are applied separately

How are these fields defined in your metadata datacapture.cfg file?
Also are you using the old metadata DCT or the new metadata DCTs?
