Setting an attribute on change

I am trying to do a simple change where on the New Profile form I change a Custom23 (Date Field) to a set date when the class is changed. However nothing appears to happen.

When I put a MsgBox statement in the statement appears to be getting called.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

CONST nrDispDate = 47
CONST nrClass = 8

Sub NewProfileDlg_OnChange(dlg, nrClass)
formClass = dlg.GetAttributeByID(nrClass)

If formClass <> "" Then

Setting a normal text field seems to work fine when you use the following syntax....
CONST nrComments = 24
dlg.SetAttributeValueByID nrComments, "Test", true

However you can't do the same for things that contain multiple values such as Class, Author, etc so the code for the following does not work...

CONST nrClass = 8
dlg.SetAttributeValueByID nrClass, "DOC", true

Does anyone know how I would get this to work?

A few things seem to be wrong with what you were trying in your NRS script

Firstly it had the correct event method signature for NewProfileDlg_OnChange, however you were using the second parameter in your If clause - you had mixed up the constant definition "nrClass" with the AttributeId parameter of the OnChange event.

Secondly you were passing a strange value to the Custom23 field (it expects a date)

Try something like the following:


Const nrClass = 8 
Const nrCustom23 = 47
Sub NewProfileDlg_OnChange(dlg, attrib)
if attrib = nrClass then
  dlg.SetAttributeValueByID nrCustom23, DateSerial(2015, 4, 6), False
end if
End Sub

The above script watches for changes to the Class field, and when it is modified it will set the Custom23 field to 6th April 2015, making sure the field is readonly
