Preview special characters

In the DCT the user wants to write the French text without using the HTML code (example é instead of é)

I am using UTF-8 encoding [html][/html] in both DCT and TPL file, but I not able to preview properly the French characters.

There can be various reasons for the garbled rendition of Diacritical Characters.

What is your Site encoding? Assuming for simplicity that it's UTF-8 and no conversion is needed do you
- generate charset HTTP(Reply) Header: Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8
OR
- Generate meta Tag in your HTML: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>

You may want to attach generated File Sample for review ( Attach, not Copy/Paste to the Post). Note also that
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> is just a declaration to the Parser: "Hey Parser, I use UTF-8 in this File".
It absolutely does not guarantee that you really do
