Are you using WFT or WFM?
Basically you define N transitions from your cgitask - each with their own description, and in your cgitask script you utilize TeamSite::CGI_lite::iwcallback() or the Java equivalent to then perform a callback / transition to the named (by description) transition.

I suggest you do a couple of things:

The code you posted is syntactically incorrect - the fact that it runs at all is a mystery to me. You have perl code and javascript code intermixed in a way that will not work and you're using the externaltask script code for a cgitask script - assuming that you'll be passed parameters on the command line - which is not the case - so you don't have a valid TeamSite::WFtask object, which you never validate.Basically - what you posted is pretty much "wrong".
