iwevents folder is in path " /local/logs/iwevents" This folder contains TeamsiteEvents.12 (or any number) file. Contents of these files look the same like iwevents.log file.

Are these files different from iwevents.log ? If not, then how come names are different ?

Usually, iwevents.log files are archived in archive folder, then why is this a separate folder "iwevents" which contain "TeamsiteEvents.12" files

Are these files created by TeamSite or are they specific to environment ?

I believe these are java data files containing the data of the events prior to them being consumed into the event subsystem database (from which they may be consumed by some other part of the system).

These files are not intended for human eyes ;-)

In the event of no connectivity to the database do these files "stack up" so to speak and then write themselves to the database when connectivity is back? If so, what is the process that watches then writes these backups?

It is not good if events accumulate and grow very large. In the 6.x world, this would cause our Event Subsystem to crash. In 7.x, I suspect the same could happen eventually. Our activemq folder also backs up to large proportions. This appears to be because Report Server crashes a lot, and so all the messages/events it's supposed to consume get backed up. We couldn't keep report server up in 6.7.2 and we have the same problems in 7.2.1. In 6, we hacked up a way to stop events intended to be consumed by report server. I have a bad feeling we're going to have to do the same thing in 7. Report Server is junk...

So back to my question, if these files stack up a bit as in the scenario I described, does the EventSubsystem service write the events from these files to the DB and then cleanup the TeamsiteEvents.x files when complete?

Here's my situation. There was a period of time that our events db was unavailable for connection but I have those events in files in the iwevents folder. I need to get them to the db. Teamsite/EventSubsystem service doesnt appear to be taking care of this. Does anyone have a possible solution to get those events to the db?

Depending on the version of TS, I think that IWOV had a program / script that could extract the data from the iwevents.log and re-enter it into the Event Subsystem DB - but I'm not positive about it and you'd have to get someone knowledgeable in either AIWOV Support or Professional Services to provide you with it.
