Error uploading PDF files in MediaBin

Hi,

I am receiving the following error when I try to upload PDF files in MediaBin Web Client, Release 4.5.2 Build 14.

I currently have Adobe Reader 7 installed on the MediaBin server.

When users try to upload files, they get the message:-

pdf could not be added: Exception in Primitive {1E885AE1}! Reason = error reading from file, Message = PDFDecoder: Error parsing PDF file data
ERROR: Job {11967CA9-C86A-4DBE-A65D-364DD9D293E5} Returned error by primitive PDF Decoder from ForwardSetup(); RC = The operation failed. Check the log output for details

I guess the MediaBin 4.5.2 does not support Adobe Reader 7

Do the following to identify the issues

1. Did you upload any pdf files with out error in the past.

2. Did this issue occurred recently ?

3. Have you updated the Adobe Reader in the server .

4. Did the Adobe file crated is compactable with Adobe Reader 7.

5. Check the log files

You can try by uninstalling the Adobe Reader 7 from the MB Server and

Install Adobe Reader 6 and try uploading the files

We have been MediaBin 4.5.2 with Adobe Reader 7 since 5 years and now and there have been no problems:-

1. Did you upload any pdf files with out error in the past.
Yes, with no issues
2. Did this issue occurred recently ?
Yes, when the user tried to upload a huge 1MB file using Adobe 8 professional
3. Have you updated the Adobe Reader in the server.
No
4. Did the Adobe file crated is compactable with Adobe Reader 7.
It must be, as uploading smaller size files of 200 to 300KB have been able to work.
5. Check the log files
Yes, no error messages.

Hi,

Seeing the error msg, looks like the PDF file may be a corrupted one. Check the origination point of the PDF till the point before it gets uploaded. The other thing is PDF will have problems, if your server has got any recent installation changes to black ice printer driver. Check if this driver is properly installed.

Give a try with Windows Client ,

Random guessing , may be the File Size.
