Hi,

There is a submit button on a component. And when the user selects some data and clicks on submit, we will fill the rest of the page with Ajax. But we want to take the Ajax return by running a Java method on servlet. Is there a way for this?

Of course and there are examples of this in the Dev guide + some of OOTB components + the tech library.

Absolutely. In the background (no page reload necessary), you can submit it to the same page (or a different page if you wanted) and have a page external/controller which returns some updated XML / HTML. This is one way of using AJAX to call some Java method on the server. There are probably several other ways to do it based on your requirements.
