Access Teamsite fields in custom VFF button

Hi,
I have created a custom button in VFF. On click of this, I allow user to create the hyperlink and save it in VFF. I need to access few DCR fields in the callout window.
Is there any way to access DCR fields in the perl script of custom button or pass field value in the script URL as param?

Env: TS 6.5 sp3 on windows server 2003

I got the way to access the field value.
I need to collect now the string that user has selected in the textbox and clicked on the button. Any suggestion to read that selected string and passed it to the callout?

Providing that eWebEditObj is a reference to your active VFE Object:

var selectedText = eWebEditObj.getSelectedText();
var selectedHTML = eWebEditObj.getSelectedHTML();

Thanks for the information. But, I do not have any idea about the eWebEditObj object. Could you please let me know how can I assign that to active VFE?
Also, could you please guide me to good VF documentation which will help me for integration with TS?

That depends. You said that "I have created a custom button in VFE..." There are several JS modules
where you could have done that (two that I know of in 6.5, three in 6.7). So, which one exactly have
you modified?
