MB Migrate & Upgrade

Hi,

I need to migrate MB from one server to another server. We are using MB 4.5.3 and now planning to upgrade to 4.6.2 also.

Is it possible to migrate the MB 4.5.3 from one machine to MB 4.6.2 in another machine ? What is the best solution to move the 200GB of assets from one server to another server? Please guide.

You can either do an in-place upgrade and then move from one server to the other or vice-versa. It doesn't matter.

To move 200GB I usually hand it over to the server admins to restore from back up or something. If you really (really) have to do it then TeraCopy is something that I would recommend. It's free! There are a few others that you can buy and do a good job of copying huge data.

You either upgrade and move or move and upgrade. There is no way to do this across machines.

Check chapter 3 of the MB 4.6.2 install guide. It has everything that you need to know about upgrading the server. If you have done any customizations to the web client they have to be carried forward manually.
