page title and keywords component

Hello :

I have read in the documentation about component to include page title and keywords. I could not find it in our installation. It is located in "Installed Components/Developer tool/ Code samples/Set Page Title and Keywords.component" .

If any one can post me the component here, it would be great.

I am not sure which exact component will allow you to do this. In any case, I am guessing you want to set the page title and keywords in the <head> section of the HTML.

You'll have to do following (we'll use title for our example)
1. set title in the page_scope:
Example: context.getPageScopeData().put(RuntimePage.PAGESCOPE_TITLE, “some title....”);

2. get the title from page_scope:
Example: <title>$PAGE_SCOPE[title]</title>

So, can the Page Scope variables be set by content producers at design time?

Page Scope is at Runtime and not design time. However, you could define the title at design time (say via a datum or a DCR field) and set it in the Page Scope at Runtime if you wanted.

The Set Page Title and Keywords example component you first mentioned is in developer.spar. It comes in your <TeamSite>/install directory, it's just not pre-installed by default.

Just use install_archive.ipl to install it and you should have it available.

We need to make an external Java call to populate page title (customizable content using datum). We might not be able to populate page < title > using xsl alone. can we?

If your page title is "dynamic" then probably XSL alone won't suffice. It is difficult to provide a solution without knowing full details.

If your page title is set using the "Page Settings" screen then OOTB XSL already handles that.
