appending an item to a content from visual format editor item

hello all,

I am using TS 6.5 sp1 .

In my TPL i need to append an hard coded value to the content, an url that is captured in the visual format editor item.

in my TPL:

$hard_value ="http://somehost"
$url_cptured_VFE ="/home/address/file.htm";

now the resultant output should look like this after appending http://somehost/home/address/file.htm.

i got no clue why i could not append that , what i have observed in viewing the source of the ouput tpl is that it was with in the .
How can i get the skeletal(HTML) part of the content, so that i could apply some regex and acheive this .

You would need to parse the content of the VFE to find and replace the value associated with href attribute for hyperlinks. Something like (un-verified):

...
my $vfeval = iwpt_dcr_value('accessor');
$vfeval =~ s/href=['"]((?!http.*?)['"]/href="$hard_value$1"/gsm;
...

The above assumes that all hrefs should be revised as such, except those that already begin with "http:".
