Branch permissions gone after server reboot

We are trying to understand what happened after our server reboot.

The server came back nicely. However, several other issues need to be understood, the biggest one is the fact that branch permissions are lost - there are some groups/permission entries data within individual branch permissions, however, not all of them are preserved.

tsgroups.xml and tsusers.xml seem to be fine.

We did though initially have an issue with groups not being listed at all (within Administration -> ManageGroups section). They came back after the weekend.

I looked at iwcache.xml file and was about to blame the 'corruption' of this file as the cause of the problem. However, I do not think that this file is the one responsible for individual branch permissions.

Where does the TeamSite store data about branch permissions?

Would we be able to snapshot (version) these permissions so we have point of return (if something similar happens in the future)? We have too many branches and we do not want to be recreating branches' permissions whenever this problem resurfaces.

Last, but not the least, would anyone know if we would be able to restore our lost branches' permissions?

You need to open a case with Support - however, I'm not sure you're going to get much joy from it as its largely going to be "your word" as to what happened with regard to branch role permissions.

Individual file and directory permissions can probably be looked up through the editions, but role permissions are not versioned (as far as I know) and thus is a more nebulous issue to track down.

Now - if you can reliably replicate the problem occurring (e.g.: set up a branch, verify permissions and roles, reboot the server and then show that the permissions and/or roles were changed) - it will be much more likely that support (or IWOV Engineering) will be able to become more actively involved in debugging the issue. Without that degree of reproducibility it is much more difficult for anyone to take an active step.
