Expiring Content

Can anyone tell me if I can use TeamSite "Set Metatag" feature to expire a document automatically? I am wondering if I enter the Expiration Date on the Metatag teamsite will automatically delete the file from staging on that date.

Entering an expiration date in Metatag/Extended attribute will not delete the file automatically.
Some of the suggestions posted previously include:
Running a cron job / at script at regular intervals (nightly) that finds the files which are expired (using an expiration date extended attribute) and deleting it (or doing whatever is necessary).

I would strongly recommend you DONT simply delete any files!

Expiring content should be actioned perhaps by an email or a workflow to update the content. If it is required to delete that file remember the issue of links. You will need to ensure no other pages/assets refer to this page.
