xCP workflow remapping

I have a workflow in xcp designer that has many mappings and that activity is attached to a java service. I need to do changes in the java and then update the workflow. Can you please share is there any other process of remapping? I mean the existing data mapping that I have is huge so now if it goes away after updating the java file is there any other way to do the existing remapping part.

Its tempting to put all your variables in the data mapper, but as you indicated, maintaining this can be tedious. I would analyze if all the values in the data mapper are transient or not. If they are not transient, I would map them to custom object in the Documentum repository. This way you can persist the values via simple DQL update from xcp workflow or in the java service (which only requires changes to the java class if you want to add more attributes)
