Get Latest Components - overwrite

We'd just like to ask for any workaround on Get Latest Components feature - overwrite

We are aware that selecting "Update" will preserve page customizations.
and selecting "Overwrite" will completely replace them (including component positioning on livesite page).

Since "Update" will preserve the local instance of the component.
We have a scenario wherein we use a TextArea component on different pages. These pages already contains component customizations. If we want to make change on the base component and want this change to push to all pages also, "Update" will not work because it will keep the page customization.

The other option is to use "Overwrite" to force the change from base component to push on the pages. However, the positioning will be changed also, resulting in component overlapping within the page. Is there a way/workaround to preserve the component positioning on page even if you use "overwrite"?
