Can anybody put some light on how "cleanhtml" command of eWebEditPro works. Which all tags it clears. Is there any particular set of rules which it follows.
It allows you to determine whether editor content is stored as HTML or XHTML.The level of cleanliness applied when the user chooses ViewHTML. The higher the level, the potentially more time to process the source. This attribute has three values."xhtml" - The HTML code is converted to the XHTML 1.0 standard (as defined at http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/)."Cleanhtml" - Medium level: eliminates overlapping tags, and merges font tags."Minimal" - Eliminates invalid fonts, filters image urls, and replaces cr/lf according to the values set in those attributes.Advantages of XHTMLXHTML can be parsed by an XML parser. Also, XHTML has replaced HTML as a W3C recommendation.Advantages of HTMLHTML is more likely to be compatible with older versions of browsers. If you are unfamiliar with XHTML, choose HTML.
Thanks a lot Faizi for your reply...Regarding the three attributes, can you please elaborate a bit with some examples and please let me know where exactly we can set these attributes.
visualformatconfig.xml
/iw-home/httpd/iw
"cleanhtml"
"xhtml"
Welcome!!You should explain your requirement, what exactly you want to perform.eWebEditPro is incorporated with TS as Visual Format Editor (VFE) that is used to capture the content from user as an editor in New Form Entry (Form Publisher). I think you are familiar with this. VFE can be customized and configured according to the requirement. The configuration file of VFE (visualformatconfig.xml) is located at /iw-home/httpd/iw location. If you want to customize the VFE then copy the config file with different name and make change in copied file (do not alter the original file). You can find various field and attributes in this configuration file. You can find the above publish attributes "cleanhtml" and "xhtml" also there.
Yes.. you are perfectly right.can we customize VFE in such a way that it cleans all img tags inside the textarea when we click on cleanhtml.I could not find how to achieve that.As far as customization in VFE is concerned, i cud only display or remove a particular control from the toolbar but i seriously doubt we can customize the way each control works..
In simple it is really not feasible to customize the task of controls. It would be better to add a new custom control and it performs the task you need. For developing a custom control you have to dig into coding and thorough the VFE (eWebEditPro) docs.Another approach is to handle those thing in template (tpl) file. This would be less effort and less time frame approach.
