Should I use DCR filters with DataDeploy?

I have tried both of these. and my deployment which works with out the filters gives the errors below. [Name attributes change for clairity]. I have also tried with a name of "DCRFilter" as the documentation for DD seems to suggest you had to use that name.

I have got the DD filters to work by filter on the path as in the third filter below event though the deploy DTD on my OD install has says that the only child elements of keep should be 'or' and 'and'.

The quote below was from my original comment. It's not a correct statement. The DTD and documentation are fine for this topic except for the "ingoreDCR" tag Paul points out below. You can use keep and discard elements with field sub-elements only. you have to use the ignore element as a parent of type and category sub-elements.

The DD admin guide (od.611.ddadmin.pdf) has examples with the keep discard elements. Either the DTD is wrong or the documentation is wrong. I'll have to get an answer from IWOV support.

[For any others on 6.1.1 I found that the OOTB datacapture dtd had mistakes too.]

So my filter should look like this.

[size=2]This would mean that if we add a datatype we have to go and modifiy all our deployment config files to ignore the new datatype rather than tell our deployment to include only the good datatype. Not optimal.

You can use this particular filter to n number of destinations, all is that you need to create a filter for specific destination and use it for that particular dbschema
