Hi,

I have been given a user that I used to configure the ODBC and also that user can connect to the database hosted in its dedicated server using MS SQL Server Management Studio. The problem is that when I try to configure the database then the popup error says the user cannot connect to the selected db and it refers me to a log file that is empty.

The user has sysadmin rights in the database.

The collation for the database was changed to Case Sensitive after its was installed, I am wondering if this could be the cause.

Environment:

Windows Server 2019

MS SQL Server 2019

Documentum 21.2

Hi,

Can you run dmdbtest utility to check if the DB connectivity is working fine.

Here is the syntax,

Usage 1: dmdbtest -docbase_name <docbase name> -init_file <filename>

-docbase_name : name of docbase

-init_file : name of server.ini file (including path) which

contains the server startup parameters

Usage 2: dmdbtest [-v | -V | -Vd | -Vs ]

To display the dmdbtest version string.

-V: To display the dmdbtest version string including OS platform and RDBMS.

-Vs: To display the dmdbtest version string including OS platform.

-Vd: To display the RDBMS that the dmdbtest is for.

Usage 3: dmdbtest -D<database name> -S<server connect> -U<UserName> -P<Password>

I got past this point and have now installed the primary docbase and busy with load balance docbase.

@mdodo Hello, may I know what fixed your problem with connecting to DB from the configuration? I think we are having the same issue. Any help is very much appreciated.

I ended up creating the database and its owner manually using MSSQL Management Studio with the user the SQL team provided and during the installation process I opted for an existing database and selected the one I created.
