We're trying to set up metadata tagging to only launch in my workflow if it's a pdf file. It appears to work except when I try to submit a non-pdf file. I get the following error message:

None of the selected files are configured for tagging.

Please see attached files. Also we're using TS 6.7.1 SP on Solaris. Thanks.

Yes it will come....... Because you have only defined a metadata rule for pdf file. If you attach a non pdf file with workflow then it will search for other metadata rule because it has pass through a Metadata Task in workflow, so it does not find any rule for non pdf files and it gives error.
You can use default rule (given by TS) for non pdf files.

If you are very keen to get the metadata tagging screen to be launched only for pdf files, you can customize your cgi to include only the pdf files for the metadata task.

It's more complex than that, or perhaps simpler (depending on how you look at it). I would consider writing my own wrapper CGI script that looks through the lists of files attached to the workflow to get a list of files that meet my requirements for tagging (e.g.: *.pdf) and if I have any, I invoke the metadata capture GUI for them (which would open up a window), otherwise I just transition to the next task (no window would ever have to have opened).
