Attaching associated dcr from ContentCenter Professional

While submitting an html file through the ContentCenter Professional workarea submit button, the associated dcr is not being attached to the workflow.

On the other hand, if the html file is edited and then submitted by clicking the Finish button, the associated dcr is included in the workflow.

We would like to include the associated dcr when someone submits an html file from the ContentCenter Professional workarea through the submit button at the top right corner.

Any ideas to do this would be appreciated.

Is this a good idea ? Not always, but it is a common request.

Are you using WFT or WFM ? DOing this with WFT is easy. Cannot be too tough with WFM either. Basically the most portable approach is to create a new external task that will read the EAs and grab the associated DCR and attach it to the WF

Would it be possible to avoid calling an external task ?

Sure, do it in the perl preprocessor in the beginning.

Find the code that populates the list of files (something like @files), check each for TST extended attributes and use those to decide what files to attach to the wf.

Put some logging in there, unless someone else has time to dig though your code. You also need to some intelligence if the file does not have extended attributes.

If you want to debug your perl put some print statements that output to a log and see if the data you *think* is set is truly there.

The error you listed means the XML generated was invalid. You can check that by putting the WFT in debug mode and viewing the saved XML

I would like to replicate this process for the Add files option in the workflow, which allows for additional files to be added to the pre-started workflow.

Currently, if additional html files are selected during the "Add Additional Files" user task, it does not attach the associated dcrs.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You need an external Task to do that after "Add Files" User Task. That will also allow you to remove this processing from the WFT Code
where is does not really belong
