LiveSite Content not getting pushed

nipper

Using the default LiveSite WF, pushing .page, .site, etc. LS WF runs fune, No errors return. The ContentMetadata deployment runs as well as the SiteMetadata. But no files get pushed. I changed the opendeploy.properties and rebuilt the GUI, also added the nodes to OpenDeployWebRoot.xml

How can I debug this ?

WHere to start ?

servletd_out.log will be the first log file that I would start with in this situation. See if there is anything obvious in there relating to the WF. If nothing, then I'll start looking into the OD logs. Make sure that your OD/DD deployments are getting kicked off.

Which deployment is failing: OD/DD? Both?

nipper

will check servletd log

The funny thing is that OD is not even starting. No errors. DD works fine.

nipper

No errors worth noting in servletd logs. The deployment never is even started.

What are you using as your "Target" when you kick off the WF? Dev/Prod?

testReportCrosstab.rptdesign

nipper

I have *both* defined and have tried both, values of development and production.

vpatel

I have seen where others have tried to deploy stuff to "development" target and DD worked fine but OD never kicked off. In reality they never understood the fact that in "development" it does not do anything with OD at all. Content gets served up from TS server so no need to deploy -- only DD metadata (or data needed for dynamic features) into the DB. Just wanted to make sure that you were not caught in one of those situations.

Have you checked in the TeamSite resource config XML file to see if you are not by passing any deployment of these files?

customer-teamsite-resource-config.xml ? I am not certain about that. I was using the OOTB config which I *thought* would already push it out. Am I incorrect there ? SHould I be copying the bean from the manual (appendix H) into it ?

vpatel

If it is an OOTB vanilla setup then you do not need anything in the resource config file. I just wanted to make sure that you had not created some custom beans with some regex that was interfering and not deploying anything.

Back to servletd log -- is there any indication that the deploy task is kicked off from the WF? Any logs at all? If you see that the deployment task is kicked off in the log files then where does the log end? Maybe this will provide us with some clues.

Just a side thought: validate that OD license is valid. I've seen very subtle logging related to this which usually gets overlooked. Just a thought.

nipper

You caught it. I hosed a regex.

Thanks.

Where's the beer ?

Its a gorgeous day out there -- beer after work sounds great to me :-)!
