Disabling VisualPreview

iw_bubbles

Hey All,

I am trying to disable the VisualPreview (Smart Context Edit) bar by updating iw.cfg on TeamSite 6.7.2. According to the documentation adding the following should be all that is required:

[iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed]
_default=no

I tried an 'iwreset' as well as stopping and starting iwproxy and the visualpreview bar does not want to go away.

Does anyone have any ideas here. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

Paul

Is your server on Windows or Unix?
If on Unix - did you make your change to

/etc/iw.cfg

IWHOME/etc/iw.cfg

? The former is the correct place, the latter will not be looked at (unless the former does not exist).

Thanks for the reply. We are on Win 2003. I modified iw.cfg in iw-home/etc and it seems to not recognize the change at all. I am going to check if other changes to the file work.

iw_bubbles

Yeap, other changes to the file work as expected. Not sure what else to check at this point.

nipper

what does this command return

iwconfig iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed _default

iw_bubbles

The command returns no but the **** thing still shows up!

Are there any other lines in your iw.cfg below the _default setting and before the next [...] section heading?

iw_bubbles

Nope, here is the section:

[iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed]
_default=no

[iwproxy_access_control_enabled]

[iwproxy_external_remap]

I tried some workarea specific regex's without success.

Thanks

The only thing I can think of off-hand is that you (or someone there) managed to get some non-visible characters embedded into the iw.cfg file such that the line you have is not being interpreted correctly.

Try re-typing (not copy/paste) those two lines

[iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed]
_default=no

directly above where they are presently - and then delete the old lines, then do a reset and see if that resolves the problem.
