Web CMS (TeamSite)
SitePublisher question
nirjari
I need to understand some basic things about SitePublisher, if someone can help please.
When TeamSite is used to generate content, it produces HTML pages which are uploaded to the website using workflow and OpenDeploy. If this webpage need to be changed then again we have to change the content using DCT and upload again.
When SitePublisher is used, we dont need to use DCTs againg. Is that right ?
SitePublisher is used to modify existing web paghes only or for some other purpose also ?
I tried reading thru manual, but did not get clear picture.
thanks

Look on the site for the webcasts of SP/LS.
1 question you did not address is, would you use the LS engine ?
Templates are not out of the question with SP, though they are less common.

Think about SitePublisher as a tool that compliments FormsPublisher (DCT).
SitePublisher allows users to assemble pages in a drag-and-drop fashion compared to the FormsPublisher's template-based content entry. In SitePublisher, you have components and these components could utilize DCRs created from FormsPublisher if you want.
With SitePublisher, you can take your .page files and generate static .html (for that matter any outpute) pages and deploy them. Alternatively, you can deploy the .page files to a LiveSite (Runtime) server and let the LiveSite (which is a J2EE application) handle the presentation.
This is a very very high level overview. I would recommend that you look through the documentation and / or go through web-casts to get more information.
HTH!
