So am I missing something or is there no way to add editions to the Publish LS Content WF without adding a new external task ? I was expecting a parameter somewhere to flip.

Customization. OOTB there is no flag for it -- probably because different customers will have different requirements around creating Editions. Should be relatively simple though.

Hi Andy,
There is no such parameter to create edition. You need to customize the PLC workflow. Add an external task that calls an ipl file that creates the edition. You have to write own ipl file to create edition.

Totally doable via IPL but IMHO it'll be much more consistent with the rest of the WF if this was done in Java. Just my $0.02.

While I agree, I can do it in about 10 minutes in perl. Java will take me significantly longer.

I guess it depends on your level of comfort with either or :-)! Possibly you already have an existing IPL to do something similar so all you may have to do is just re-use it.

It'll take you ~10 times as much code (my personal experience as well) to code it in Java and the performance will still be
worse than in Perl, for the single external Task anyway. Languages are your tools, better for some tasks, worse for other
