Adding primary content to contentless object

Hello everyone,

my question is:

Is it possible for the users, using D2 Client to add primary content to contentless document.

We are using D2 4.5.

I don't have a D2 4.5 system in front of me, but can't you Check-out the document, then do a Check-in from file?

No, I can not. For D2 menu "Edit" there is a restriction "Selection has content".

The action for this menu is D2_ACTION_CONTENT_EDIT.

Do you know another action that can be used for adding content?

Check if you have a 'Checkout' option on the top menu 'Content':

This would allow you to Check-out the document and then do a 'Check-in From File'.

When i try it, i get a message:

This works for me, in an old D2 4.2 system:

Select the content-less object
Invoke the menu item 'Content | Checkout'
The document is checked out and now has a lock icon
With the document selected, invoke the menu item 'Content | Check in...'
In the Checkin dialog, click on the 'Options' tab
Click on the ... button to the right of 'Checkin from file'
Select a file from the file system and click OK
Click OK in the Checkin dialog
The object is checked-in, creating a new version with a content file

This is exactly what i did, but i got the message above - when i chose the menu item 'Content | Checkout'.

Do you have any idea why?

O, sorry it was my mistake. There were configured CheckOut for this type document. I changed some settings and now it works. I uploaded content to contentless document.
