.mov files in Media Bin
lenoxmike
I do understand that .mov files are not digested by MediaBin.
I have a need to store these files as video masters, and don't really need to be able to run any conversion tasks.
I would make alternate versions as .wmv files and store those in MediaBin.
Is there any possibility that .mov files will ever be on an accepted file type list?

Mov files are most certainly supported by MediaBin. They ingest as asset type "QuickTime".
There is a bug for which a patch is available for some mov files and some versions of MediaBin the Targa (TGA) primitive incorrecttly tries to process these files. If you do not intend to ingest TGA files the quickest workaround is to delete the MB_TGA.dll primitive from the Primitives subdirectory of the install directory.
In any case the next roll-up patch (probably February) will fix this problem. If the workaround will not serve until then contact support.

Thanks for the clarification and the workaround.
I don't think we'll be seeing Targa files, so we'll give the workaround a try.
