How we can make a widget is configurable

Hi,

Like perpspectivemgr in OpenText Content server, is there any way we can configure the widget, so that we can use the same widget in different places using it's configuration.

If a widget is using a REST Endpoint, that will change customer to customer, how we can pass it in smart view sdk.

With D2, different variations of the widget can be created and used in the configuration matrix, effectively giving different variations of the same widget to a group, role, location, application name or other supported context criteria supported in the D2-Configuration matrix.

Can you provide a little more detail on what you are wanting to do and we might be able to give further detail.

Thanks for the reply, we are trying to create a widget that will communicate with InfoArchive and fetch results. Right now we have hardcoded the InfoArchive endpoint URL, Application Name, Search form name etc. As the same widget can be used with different application and search form, we would like to pass this information as parameters so it is reusable. Please let me know how we can achieve this.

We did a similar thing in D2 Classic (and porting it to Smartview as we speak).

Basically, all our configurations are stored in some XML document in the D2 repository. Our components read those config files and act accordingly.

I guess that could be an option for you too.

So from the above comment what I understood is that you are trying to build an widget to communicate with InfoArchive to return the results. This is something which D2-Smartview has by default using the D2-Infoarchive-Plugin. This allows you to define a infoarchive and OTDS settings for connecting and also define a form to search the results for a particular InfoArchive application.

●Using a workflow, have workflow assign a status, such as “Archived”
●The dm_InfoArchive job will then move those documents from D2 to InfoArchve per a dql_predicate
●Then D2 can consume or run a InfoArchive search from D2
