Changes not getting reflected for JAVA files

All,

I am facing one strange issue with Teamsite. I am using some JAVA classes for various purposes (like datasource etc). Since today any of my changes have stopped getting reflected. Even if I delete the JAR, WAR all class files still no use. It picks up some old class file. After deleting all jar, war, class file i do see that those files are no where existing on my server still whenever i hit the page I can see that old file is being picked up because i see old loggers.

I did TS server start stop, even bounced the server still no luck. I feel its coming from some cache but where? Smiley Sad

If i create a new class and compile it then changes do get reflect only for that new class file.
I am using make_toolkit to compile and package.

Can anyone please help why this could happen?

you need to run maketool_kit whether you are adding, changing or deleting java files/custom code.

I am running the make_toolkit everytime as mentioned in original post as well, now not even that I am stopping and starting the server as well.

When you run make_toolkit.ipl, are you seeing any errors on the screen or is it running clean? Is the CC UI working?

I do not see any errors and yeh UI is working. Just the changes do not get reflect.

Even if I delete all Jars, tk war, class file do a server stop start and hit the page still i do not get class not found exception.

Is it tomcat caching etc or something?

I search in / (root) folder fro my class files but no do not find that class file is lying somewhere else well.

Delete customer.jar file in:
iw-home/httpd/webapps/contenet_center/WEB-INF/lib dir.

Then run make_toolkit.ipl after you put the client.jar file into iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/lib dir.

When you try to run your program, if you get a class not found exception, copy your jar file to customer.jar in the iw-home/httpd/webapps/content_center/WEB-INF/lib directory (with perm 755 if you are on unix), then run iwreset -a.

You should see your changes reflected now.

I did not get this completely. I am not placing my JAVA files directly under customer_src. I have created another folder say myfiles under content_center.

And I have already tried deleting myfiles.jar, myfiles.tk.war from httpd/webapps then run make_toolkit but no luck.

Any pointers now?

You mean your .java files are under the customer_src\src directory, correct?

Once you have ran the make_toolkit.ipl, can you validate that the resulting customer.jar file has your compiled Java class files in there?

Did you create an entry for "myfiles" in the toolkit.xml file?
Perhaps you need to post that and more information about how you setup and configured things for your customizations?

you should put your jar files under customer_src/lib dir.

But did you delete the customer.jar file? That file will hold your old java jar, classes, etc....
you should put your jar files under customer_src/lib dir.

Also make sure that you are not backing up customer.jar files in the the lib directory. For example: do NOT have this:
- lib\customer.jar
- lib\customer-backup.jar

If the .jar files have similar packages/classes you just do not know which one is going to get loaded.
