Do we have to create exact structure on TS and runtime ?

When a file is created on TS and then pushed tothe runtime environment (which is weblogic),do we need to create exact structure of folders on the runtime ? Otherwise how will file go in a particular place ?

Even if the files go on a particular folder (using OD) , how can that file be used ? As when using it, path specified is the one in TS while file is residing in different path in runtime ?

Is it possible that file structure on TS server and runtime can be different ?

It is in your own interest (and unless you have a compelling reason to do otherwise), you should have everything under the workarea root match up to everything under the site docroot (I believe a folder called *runtime*) on the Runtime side. Can it be deployed elsewhere? Sure! Would you do it that way? No, more than likely you'll break hyperlinks and references.

On the side note, you should be using $URL_PREFIX token whenever you create hyperlinks or reference a file. This way the appropriate URL will be resolved for you on the TS side and on the LS side automatically for you.
