Hi all, currently, i face some problem of page background image :1.Is there any place can set the align for page background image under page settings? If we don't set this align style, the background image will repeat when the width not so enough .2.If i define background image in css file, then every component will need to do this. But even if we do like that, the background image will be seprated, we can not get a complete background image for this page. How can we resolve this issue in livesite3.1?Do you face similar problem before?any solutions?
Background images are completely doable through some simple CSS styling. If you want the same background on ALL pages then you can just put it in an external CSS file. Alternatively, if you just want it on selected page(s) then expose it as a datum in one of the standard components (i.e. header component). As long as repeating image - you can control that through CSS style attributes. You can also control the width of that background image and other style attributes. Just look up some basic CSS styles on google.
Thanks vpatel, I think maybe you misunderstand what i mean.yes,we can set page background image through css styling. But in livesite .page, for example, one page is made up of 5 components. If i want to set one image for this page as background, then i should set css class(for background image) in which component? If i only set in header component, then the background image only for header.Other area of this page will be no background. if i set in each component, then the whole page background will be made up of 5 divs.
I understood your requirements and your clarifications validated that. With that said, you set the image once in your header component and you can set it as a background for the page and not just that component. This is CSS style setting.Do you know much about CSS? If not then, forget SP/LS for a moment and google how to set background images on a webpage using CSS.I have done this many times over and it works just fine.
Hi vpatel,in fact, what i said is not very clear,if we want to set background for a web page, then it can be implement by css styling for body tag.e.g body{background:#0058AA url(../images/bk.jpg) no-repeat scroll 50% 0pt;} as you mentioned, we can set this in one component, then it will apply to the whole page background.but if the page like: http://www.epson.co.uk/Explore-Epson/Innovation/DuraBrite-Ultra-Ink/1223288350790(take care the background)the background is implement by css styling for div(id=container):#Container {background:#0058AA url(../images/bk.jpg) no-repeat scroll 50% 0pt;}however,for livesite page, we know it is made up of many individual components, multiple components can not belong to one div except body. so it seems not easy to implement this.is there any solutions for this?
Ok now you confused the heck out of me. In any case, the page that you provided the link for is definitely doable in SP. Depending on how you break down that page, you'll have various options. You'll definitely need CSS styles for this -- may be FALs as well.
Hi vpatel,Until now, i haven't solved this issue, can you give me some suggest, thanks
Like I said in previous posts, what you are trying to do is relatively simple CSS stuff. You need a background image that covers the entire page and is centered horizontally, correct? Atleast that is what I saw on the page that you had sent me. This could be done with simple CSS styling. You can either have the image selected in one of the primary components (i.e. header) or have it configured directly in your CSS. I suggest you google on how to position background image on an entire page with CSS and post with specific questions.
In fact, the key thing for this issue is we can not let multiple livesite components belong to one div.
You are misguided -- that statement is NOT true. You can achieve one image background for those 3 components in a row via FAL.
please forgive me if this question is basic, how can i achieve one image for 3 components in a row via FAL?
