how about to regenerate that object from the DCR that created it.

when there is a change in dcr/tpl we have to regenerate the page to reflect the changes otherwise the end result page/xml wont able to pick up the changes by itself.

i am able to do that , but whenever i change the xml file, and click regenerate page for that webpage, it says as Unable to generate page, as it is not a generated file. is that something we need to change.

Yes click regenerate page on a file that was created from an XML and not the XML itself

Click properties on the .html and you will see 3 extended attributes if that file was generated froma template.
