OD License Issue

Hi All,

We are installing OpenDeploy and to generate the license i have executed the step
java -cp od-home/lib/odng.jar com.interwoven.license.LicInfo -f output-file -p OD

This gave me an java class not found exception,

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/interwoven/license/LicInfo

Because of this scenario we gave some wrong domain name in the license request which is not working.

We have 2 questions here,

1. How to resolve the java exception and get the host details?
2. If we want to generate one more license, then what is the process? Will I be charged extra?

What java is in your path ?

If you generated a license that does not work and need to regenerate it, that is not a problem. I suggest emailing support to let them know so IWOV does not think you are out of compliance.

If you generate and use more licenses than you purchased, IWOV will do a compliance audit, and you will be in a world of hurt if you are using more licenses that you purchased.

Just to make sure - did you use the above command line literally? or did you substitute in the actual path for "od-home"?

Also - did you provide a full path for the "output-file" or at least verify that you had the ability to create new files in your current working directory?

And - as Nipper asked, are you sure you're running the right "java" - probably best if you run the one that comes with OD by using an explicit path for that too.

Your responses helped me a lot. I made a silly mistake of leaving the OD-Home as it is.

We will send out an email to support IWOV and try regenerating as Nipper said.
