Adding Class To a Div For a given Value Problem

I'm trying to add a class to a div given an ID of a parent element that is defined by a value.

Example:

my $community = '"community"';

[/html]

I get a bad form error when debugging. I also need to have the expression equal another value and add a different class. Would I need to write another iw_if expr?

Now I get a miss matched tag error on the line that I just added the quotes to. I know that it understands open/close syntax, is it because i'm not closing the div within the expression?

post what you changed and do a view source if it generates an HTML.

I suspect you have conflicting quotes somewhere.

I can't even generate the page because I get a pt compiler error. To debug I have been running this command line for iwpt_compile.ipl -pt and -iw_pt-dcr . The only changes that I had made from my original post was what you suggested.

Post it anyway, mis-matched tag means not closing all iw_if, iw_else, iw_then, etc. The div makes no difference.

Open an editor and use the find option to count all iw_if open and close, iw_then open and close, iw_else open and close, etc.

Also take one of the set of quotes off of this statement (use only double)

You have to change to this

You have 2 sets of quotes, you do not want that.

Well, then you need to debug. There is nothing obvious. Cut part of the TPL out and see if it will generate.

The iw_includes are using back slashes, which *may* work, but I always use forward slashes. Try change those as well

It also does not look like you close the 2nd CDATA, did I miss that ?

Finally look in iwutildcmd_out.log and see if that has any more detail on the error

You would also have more luck if you did not use a XML style TPL. Just change like 1 to
[php]

[/php]

and then you can get rid of CDATA and it does not have to be valid XML

Besides the various other responses you've gotten (like getting rid of the extra quotes where you define the variable - the mismatch tag problem is here:

That's the one place you need to include CDATA tags if you're going to use verbatim XML output style - e.g.:

          <iw_then><![CDATA[<div id="resources" class='{iw_value name="$community"/}'>]]></iw_then>
          </iw_if>
...

Alternatively, and my preference - use Perl:

(extraneous white-space is byproduct of forum software, not intended as part of actual code)

I believe I have the class part figured out but I am still getting errors. Nipper had mentioned that I was missing a for id=body but I'm not see it. As a standard HTML document it comes back with no miss matched tags but since trying to build out a template it has. Up to the point of trying to adding the class the template was free of errors. Now that iw_if expr is there it is causing miss matched classes... really frustrated.

Did you even bother to read my response?
I believe I pointed out quite clearly where your mismatched tag is coming from, and a couple of ways you might be able to fix it.

(Note: in addition to the code I highlighted in my previous post, you will probably have a similar issue with the code surrounding the end-div [/div] tag, that needs to be taken care of the same way)
