Adding new item in existing record

Hi All,

I am using Teamsite 6.7.1 version.
Our requiremnt is to autogenrate one number in the DCT.This number we are fetching from the database as a sequence.
For the existing records we need to add this item in the DCR with this sequence number.We are trying to write a script for this.
Can any one please suggest any other alternatives ?
What are the risk associated if we change it through the script?

You can use sequence value at deployment as well.
Have look at this post

Or else write script to open the DCR and append the field what ever you want using perl modules or use search and replace regex.

Just keep in mind the output xml should be well formed and it validated against datacapture cfg.

I am trying to set a node in DCR and set_node_list but am unable to that.Has any one tried to use this way to insert a node??

That sounds like a poor approach.

Make a hidden field in the DCR, write some formapi to read it call server to the DB and update the field. You could also make this an inline call & that would be easier.
