Error - not an allowed deployment path

OD Base - 6.1.1
OD Rcvr - 6.0.2
server - win 2003

when I try to deploy the content using absolute path for base and receiver server (like C:\od-home\OpenDeployNG\unc_test) then it works. But my requirement is to make it working for UNC path.

Based on error i know allowedDirectories path in rcvr.xml is not working.

Following is the error in the log file -
LIB: 2009-09-22 14:19:57 Receiver-ERROR: ERROR: [\\rcvrname\unc_test] is not an allowed deployment path.

I followed the instruction of OD.6.1.1.deploy.pdf page 37 but it also didn't work.

It is not complaining about the UNC path, it is complaining that you have not specified that path as a valid deployment path.

FYI, a couple of points. If you are deploying to \\server\share\ you need to have permissions to write to the share as well as the folders. Also if you deploy to \\server\sharea\foo.htm it will not work, it will not deploy to the root of a share (no idea why)

I can access the \\rcvrname\unc_test from Base OD server and everyone has read/write access. I test it by creating few files and folders also. I tried to deploy it to "\\rcvrname\unc_test\test_subdir" but that also didn't work

You are not reading my post (nor the OD manual). You must explicitly tell OD the paths that you are deploying to. Look at $OD-Home/etc/odbase.xml

I think I couldn't explain you my situation v. well. I have already made the change in odbase.xml, odrcvr.xml and odnodes.xml.

As i said earlier, its working fine if I use "C:\od-home\OpenDeployNG\unc_test" instead of "\\rcvrname\unc_test" in config xml file.

Just for testing I changed the OD base service owner as "domain admin" and later on gave full permission on "\\rcvrname\unc_test" to the same domain admin but nothing worked.

I know its not firewall issue so i didn't make any changes mentioned in https://support.interwoven.com/kb/kb_show_article2.asp?ArticleID=61115.
