Deployment error

i am trying to deploy file from my base server to reciver.it comes completed with error. the odbase.log shows the following error when i am start the deployment

Check the OD status on the Target server.

The message :Base: Exceeded all 3 retries to get a connection with the target OpenDeploy host.
Failed creating socket.

indicates that OD on target might be down.

No - it's not. At least not according to your Base Server.

There are a number of possibilities here:

This should not be that difficult to debug - have fun.

Migrateduser

As Fish states, it should be very easy to debug. To help, in case you are very new to this, try the following.

1) On the OD BASE server, open the odnodes.xml file and find the entry you are using.
1a) example : node name="myTarget" host="mytarget.mydomain.com" port="20014"

2) From the OD Base Server, bring up a command prompt and telnet to the target node using the port specified in the odnodes.xml file:
2a) telnet mytarget.mydomain.com 20014

3) If this fails to connect, you have one of these problems as Fish stated.
OD Receiver not running
OD Receiver listening on wrong port
No Network path between Base and Receiver
Firewall blocking connection between Base and Receiver

These are all standard network issues and you or your support team should be able to resolve them quickly.

According to ur statement i found that telnet not working.an u tell me what i have to do for opening the port 20014.

weather i have to open both in base and receiver server or any one of this.kindly tell that plz

Is it that port 20014 is not open, or that port 20014 is not being listened to on the receiver?

Is there a firewall present between source and target servers?
If so, does that firewall do NAT?

Have you spent any time actually reading the installation and administration manuals for OpenDeploy?

Can you post (as attachments) the Receiver's od.log and hostname_odrcvr.log files?

Thanks to all now my Deployment working fine.its due to an wrong entry in my reciver side /etc/host.
