copy command problem
stya
Hi,
I need to copy files from one branch to another branch as apart of my
workflow process.The file is getting copied if there is an exact structure on
both src and target .
But in some cases the sub folder files need to be deployed in such cases
How to create the sub folder dynamically on target.
===================================
for ex :-
/htdocs/images/a.gif
src tgt
htdocs htdocs
images images
a.gif a.gif
Special case :-
src tgt
htdocs htdocs
images images
en en(this should be created dynamically)
a.gif a.gif
=============================================
I am using 'cp' command .......and the tgt folders are all having read and
write access.
NOTE:- For correct folder structure Use Attached txt File.
Thanks in advance......
Thanks,
sya

Since you are trying us "cp" I am assuming you are on some flavor of Unix. Have you tried looking into the "cp" command details? If there are no flags with that command that meet your requirement then I am sure you can use a command like "mkdir" to create your directories first and then do "cp" or something.
Also using "cp" command will not copy your EAs. You may want to look at an IW CLT for that.

Are you talking about source and target being on a TS server?
Or is source on TS and target on something like a web or application server?
Or are both source and target non-TS servers?
On a single server setup something like:
cd src; tar -cpf - src | (cd tgt; tar -xpf -)
would probably work.
On either a single or dual server setup - OpenDeploy could do this for you, including copying EAs if both source and target locations are within TeamSite's filesystem.
If none of the above seems to resolve your issue, please provide more detail about what your issue actually is.
