Alert when data deploy hangs

We had a problem with our nightly data deployment hanging when it tried to deploy to the database. Deployments usually take less than 10 minutes but yesterday morning it kept running for hours. Is there a way we can monitor the connection between Data deploy and the oracle database to get an alert if the data deployment takes more than X amount of time? (we already get an email using the dnrDeploymentJob if the deployment succeeds or fails, but this doesn't help in this situation.)Thanks
